Grape’s benefits aren’t just in the skin

It turns out grapes might help prevent heart damage and lower blood pressure, which is good news for people who have had high blood pressure.

In a study of rats specifically bred to develop high blood pressure when fed salty foods (much like many Americans), rats that were fed salty foods and dried grape powder actually had  better heart function than the rats fed salty foods and given blood pressure medication.

While the study is preliminary and the study needs to be replicated more times and with people, the wonderful thing about grapes is they tastes great, have many nutrients in addition to possible heart health and they are easy to eat snacks.  See the full article for full details at: Science Daily
